Being a girly-girl, I love shiny and sparkly things...
Since I work in Interior Design, I like it when rooms have a lil sparkle- it grabs your attention! The use of high-gloss or metallic paints always adds interest to an ordinary room.

These following three images are all designs by Miles Redd

As you can see in these two images, deep blues and turquoises are just made to be done in a high-gloss finish. Jewel tones in a gloss finish make the room like a jewel box

High-gloss paint is known to be unforgiving for hiding flaws on your walls though.... Gotta get a good person to just skim coat the whole room!

This design, also by Miles Redd, gets a little too crazy to me, but bold colors done in high-gloss are sure to make an impact

The space above was designed by Thom Filicia for the 2012 Kips Bay showhouse.
I used the same space in a post last May, but it is so nice I had to use it twice! The bright color makes it fun, while the glossy ceiling adds height to a boxy space

When high-gloss is used in a white interior it has more of an ethereal impact and less of a bold statement, but still beautiful nonetheless!

This image is another Kips Bay Showhouse room

Modern Masters has a beautiful line of metallic interior paints that can add such character to a room. With some of the products, you'd think that someone had applied real sheets of metal or real gold leafing to the walls!

I haven't found the right space or wall for this yet, but it sure is beautiful...
